Cat Letter Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

Cat Letter is operated by LONG VOYAGE TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. (“Long Voyage”, “we”, “us”). Cat Letter is for keeping the days that matter to you, the letters they bring, and the memories around them. We treat all of it as private, and we design the product to collect as little as possible and to process it only to provide the service.

1. Information we handle

What you create

As you use Cat Letter, you may create or keep days, their dates and names, archived letters, keepsake and theme choices, reminder settings, and other preferences for your nest. This content is used to provide Cat Letter's core features.

When accounts and cloud continuity are enabled, this content is linked to your Cat Letter account and synced to our cloud service, so you can restore your nest after reinstalling the app, changing phones, or signing in on another supported device.

Your private content is never shown publicly to other users, and is never used for advertising.

Account and sign-in information

To identify your account and help you restore your data, we may handle: your Cat Letter user identifier, the sign-in method you chose, the account identifier returned by a third-party sign-in service, and the email address you provide if you sign in by email.

Sign-in credentials and session information are used only for authentication, account security, and keeping you signed in. We never store your password for Apple, Google, WeChat, or any other third-party sign-in service.

Purchases and digital entitlements

Payment for themes and other digital content is handled by the Apple App Store. We may receive and keep the product identifier, a verified transaction reference, the purchase, refund, or revocation status, and the digital entitlements linked to your Cat Letter account, so that purchases can be confirmed and restored.

We never receive or store your card number or full payment details.

Limited product usage information

To confirm the product is working, understand whether key flows complete successfully, and improve the experience, we may handle limited usage information, such as: whether a sign-in, sync, restore, or purchase flow started, succeeded, or failed; the app version; and a separate install-level analytics identifier.

The install-level analytics identifier is not combined with your Cat Letter account identity to build a profile of your behaviour. We do not use this information for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking.

What we do not collect

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not read your full photo library. When you save or share a card through the iOS share sheet, those choices are handled by the operating system.

Unless you send them to us yourself when contacting support, we do not collect device crash logs or diagnostic files into our own product analytics database.

2. How we use this information

3. Local-first design and cloud sync

Cat Letter is built to be local-first . Your content is kept on the device, so everyday use and offline reading keep working.

When accounts and sync are enabled, the content needed for reinstalling, changing phones, and continuity across devices is also stored in our cloud infrastructure.

If the network is temporarily unavailable, your local content stays usable. Once the connection returns, the app resumes syncing when appropriate.

4. Third-party services

To provide sign-in, purchases, and cloud continuity, we may use:

These third parties handle the information they need under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to them.

5. What we will not do

We will not sell your personal information or your private content.

6. Retention and account deletion

We keep information only for as long as needed to provide the service, protect its security, verify transactions, or meet legal obligations.

If you delete your Cat Letter account, we delete the personal content held in the cloud for that account, along with the account identity itself.

To handle refunds, prevent the same purchase from being linked repeatedly, or meet necessary audit and anti-fraud requirements, we may keep a minimal purchase reference that does not directly identify you, for a limited period.

Deleting your account does not automatically clear the nest stored on this device. If you also want to remove what is on this device, use a local option such as “Clear this phone's nest”.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information relating to you.

In the app you can also manage the sign-in methods linked to your account, request deletion of your Cat Letter account, and clear local data; notification permissions are managed in iOS Settings.

8. Children's privacy

Cat Letter is not designed specifically for children. Where applicable law requires a guardian's consent for a minor, please obtain that consent before using the service.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit, access controls, least privilege, credential isolation, and data minimisation where appropriate.

No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we keep improving our safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

As features change, we may update this policy. If an update materially changes how we handle personal information, we will let you know through the app, the website, or another appropriate channel.

11. Contact us

If you have questions about privacy, account data, or a deletion request, you can write to [email protected], or reach us through the Cat Letter website or the developer contact link on Cat Letter's App Store page.

Cat Letter Terms of Use

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These terms apply to your access to and use of Cat Letter. By using Cat Letter you agree to these terms and to the applicable Apple platform terms.

1. The service and your account

Cat Letter provides days, your nest, letters, the archive, themes, and the related sync and restore features.

Some features require a Cat Letter account, so that a nest can be tied to its owner, data continuity protected, and digital entitlements restored.

Use only a sign-in method you are entitled to use, and keep access to your device and account secure. Do not share verification codes, access tokens, private keys, or other security credentials with anyone.

2. Licence

So long as you comply with these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Cat Letter on supported devices you own or control.

Apps obtained through the Apple App Store are also subject to the applicable Apple Media Services Terms and the related end-user licence terms.

3. Your content

You keep the rights you hold in the days, words, and other content you create.

You grant us only the permissions needed to provide, sync, restore, protect, and maintain Cat Letter. Using Cat Letter does not give us ownership of your private content.

4. Themes and digital purchases

Some themes and other digital content can be bought once through the Apple App Store.

Pricing, tax, payment confirmation, and refunds are handled by Apple according to your App Store region and platform rules.

Themes change how your nest looks and feels. They are not used to unlock core features such as recording days or reading letters.

A verified purchase can be linked to the digital entitlements on your Cat Letter account, so it can be restored on supported devices.

If Apple refunds, revokes, or invalidates a transaction, the corresponding entitlement may be revoked.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

6. Sync, restore, and availability

We make reasonable efforts to provide sync and restore, but online services can experience temporary interruptions, delays, or third-party platform failures.

Cat Letter is local-first, so many features keep working while you are temporarily offline.

We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted at all times, on every device, or on every network.

7. Account deletion and termination

You can request deletion of your Cat Letter account from the account settings in the app.

Deleting an account removes the personal content held in the cloud and the account identity; content on this device is handled separately, as described in the Privacy Policy.

If you seriously breach these terms, compromise the security of the service, or the law requires us to act, we may limit or end access to the relevant services.

8. Changes to the service and these terms

We may improve, adjust, or discontinue features, and we may update these terms.

Where a change materially affects your rights or the service itself, we will tell you through an appropriate channel.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Cat Letter is provided “as is” and “as available”.

We operate the service with reasonable care, but we cannot guarantee that networks, devices, Apple, Google, WeChat, or other third-party platforms will never fail.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights or liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Governing law

Without affecting the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence, these terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

11. Contact us

For questions about these terms or the Cat Letter service, you can write to [email protected], or reach us through the Cat Letter website or the developer contact link on the App Store.

Cat Letter Support

If you run into trouble with sign-in, sync, restoring purchases, or the data in your nest, start with the notes below. Where private content is involved, please do not post full letters, passwords, verification codes, access tokens, or payment details in public channels.

Sign-in isn't working

Check your connection and try the same sign-in method again. Apple, Google, and WeChat sign-in can be affected by those platforms' own status; for email sign-in, make sure the verification code has not expired.

Never send a verification code or access token to anyone, including support staff.

Getting your nest back after a new phone or reinstall

Sign in with the same Cat Letter account. Content linked to that account that had synced successfully will be restored to the device.

If some older content never synced to the Cat Letter cloud before it was removed from the original device, it may not be recoverable.

A theme you bought is missing

First make sure you are signed in to the right Cat Letter account, then use “Restore purchases” in the app, or reopen The Corner Shop to refresh your entitlements.

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store. If the transaction is still valid, Cat Letter restores the matching theme entitlement from the verified purchase record.

Requesting a refund

Payments and refunds for App Store purchases are managed by Apple. Please submit a request through Apple's own purchase history and refund channels.

Cat Letter does not store your full card details and cannot refund an App Store payment on Apple's behalf.

Why it still works offline

Cat Letter is local-first. Everyday content is kept on the device first, so you can keep reading and editing during a short time offline.

Once the connection returns, the app resumes syncing when appropriate.

Deleting your Cat Letter account

Choose delete account in the app's “Account & Sync” settings.

Once deletion completes, the cloud account and the personal content held in the cloud are removed. The nest on this device stays, and simply goes back to living only on this phone.

If you also want to remove what is on this device, use “Clear this phone's nest” separately.

Reporting a problem

Please write to [email protected], or reach us through the Cat Letter website or the developer contact link on Cat Letter's App Store page.

To help us look into it, it is useful to include: your device model, iOS version, Cat Letter version, roughly what you did before the problem appeared, and screenshots that do not contain private content or security credentials.
